Reviewer Guidelines

Welcome to the review process for the Indonesian Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics. Your role as a reviewer is crucial in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and relevance of the articles published in our journal. These guidelines outline the expectations and standards for reviewing submissions.

  • Provide an objective, constructive, and timely review of the submitted manuscript.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the manuscript content and the review process.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in the manuscript and suggest improvements.
  • Alert the editor to ethical concerns, such as plagiarism, duplicate submission, or conflicts of interest.
  • Provide a clear recommendation regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection.

Reviewers should assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:

A. Scientific Quality

  • Originality: Does the manuscript present new findings or a novel approach?
  • Rigor: Is the methodology sound, and are the results well-supported by evidence?
  • Clarity: Is the paper well-structured and easy to follow?

B. Relevance

  • Scope: Is the research relevant to computational and applied mathematics?
  • Significance: Does the study contribute meaningfully to the field?
  • Practical Applications: If applicable, does the research provide practical insights?

C. Technical Accuracy

  • Are the mathematical formulations, proofs, and computations correct?
  • Are the references appropriate and correctly cited?
  • Are figures, tables, and equations well-presented and accurate?

D. Presentation and Writing

  • Is the manuscript written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English?
  • Are the abstract, introduction, and conclusion well-defined?
  • Are symbols, notations, and terminology consistent and professional?
  • Report any suspected plagiarism, duplicate submission, or data manipulation.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest that may affect your judgment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and do not share the manuscript or review content with others.
  1. Initial Assessment: Ensure the manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope.
  2. Detailed Review: Provide feedback on the manuscript’s strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  3. Recommendation: Choose one of the following recommendations:
    • Accept as is
    • Accept with minor revisions
    • Major revisions required
    • Reject
  4. Final Comments: Provide constructive feedback to the authors and confidential comments to the editor if necessary.

Reviewers must complete their review within the assigned timeframe. If additional time is needed or if you cannot review a manuscript, please inform the editorial office as soon as possible.
