Citation Guidelines
Citation Guidelines for the Indonesian Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics (Vancouver Style)
1. General Formatting
- Citations should be numbered consecutively in the order they appear in the text.
- Use Arabic numerals in square brackets (e.g., [1], [2,3], or [4-6]).
- The reference list should be in numerical order, corresponding to the citations in the text.
2. Citation in Text
- Single reference: "According to recent studies [1]."
- Multiple references: "Several studies support this finding [2,3]."
- Consecutive references: "This method is widely used in research [4-6]."
3. Reference List Format
a. Journal Articles Format: Author(s). Title of the article. Abbreviated Journal Name. Year;Volume(Issue):Page numbers. DOI (if available).
Example:
- Smith J, Doe J. A numerical method for solving differential equations. J Comput Appl Math. 2023;40(2):123-130. doi:10.1016/j.cam.2023.05.001.
b. Books Format: Author(s). Title of the book. Edition (if applicable). Place of publication: Publisher; Year.
Example: 2. Strang G. Linear Algebra and Its Applications. 4th ed. Boston: Brooks Cole; 2006.
c. Book Chapters Format: Author(s) of the chapter. Title of the chapter. In: Editor(s), editor(s). Title of the book. Edition (if applicable). Place of publication: Publisher; Year. p. Page numbers.
Example: 3. Johnson L. Numerical integration techniques. In: Brown P, editor. Computational Methods in Applied Mathematics. 2nd ed. New York: Springer; 2018. p. 45-67.
d. Conference Proceedings Format: Author(s). Title of the paper. In: Editor(s), editor(s). Title of conference proceedings; Date of conference; Location of conference. Place of publication: Publisher; Year. p. Page numbers.

e. Theses and Dissertations Format: Author. Title of thesis [type of thesis]. Place of publication: Institution; Year.
Example: 5. Williams R. A study on finite element methods [PhD thesis]. Cambridge: University of Cambridge; 2019.
f. Reports Format: Author(s). Title of report. Report No. (if available). Place of publication: Institution/Organization; Year.
Example: 6. National Research Council. Computational modeling in scientific research. Report No. 2021-07. Washington, DC: National Academies Press; 2021.
g. Online Sources Format: Author(s) (if available). Title of document or webpage. Name of website. Year [cited YYYY Mon DD]. Available from: URL.
Example: 7. World Health Organization. Mathematical modeling of disease spread. WHO. 2022 [cited 2025 Feb 10]. Available from: https://www.who.int/modeling.
h. Software or Datasets Format: Author(s) or Organization. Title of software or dataset [Type]. Version (if applicable). Place of publication: Publisher; Year.
Example: 8. MATLAB. MATLAB User Guide [Software]. Version R2022a. Natick (MA): MathWorks; 2022.
4. Additional Notes
- List all authors if there are six or fewer. If there are more than six, list the first six followed by "et al."
- Journal names should be abbreviated according to the NLM Catalog (PubMed format).
- Use DOI when available.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in all references.
