Publication Ethics

Introduction

The Indonesian Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. We adhere to ethical guidelines established by reputable organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties, including editors and reviewers, must be involved in the publication process and maintain integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Duties of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and plagiarism-free. Any sources used should be appropriately cited.
  • Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to multiple journals.
  • All authors should have contributed significantly to the research and be listed appropriately.
  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of their research.
  • Data and findings must be reported accurately, and any manipulation or fabrication of results is strictly prohibited.
  • If errors are discovered after publication, authors are responsible for promptly notifying the journal for corrections or retractions.

Duties of Editors

  • Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit and relevance without bias related to race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, or other personal factors.
  • Confidentiality of submitted manuscripts must be maintained, and information should not be shared with unauthorized individuals.
  • Editors must ensure the peer review process is fair, unbiased, and timely.
  • Editors must take appropriate action in cases of ethical concerns or suspected misconduct, including seeking retractions or issuing corrections when necessary.
  • Editors should not have conflicts of interest regarding submitted manuscripts. If such conflicts exist, they must delegate editorial decisions to another qualified editor.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback to assist authors in improving their work.
  • Reviewers should maintain confidentiality and not disclose or use information from the manuscript for personal advantage.
  • If a reviewer identifies any ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or data manipulation, they should report them to the editor.
  • Reviewers must avoid evaluating manuscripts with conflicts of interest.

Duties of the Publisher

  • The publisher must ensure that all publications adhere to ethical guidelines and that misconduct is addressed appropriately.
  • The journal should provide open access to ethical guidelines and publishing policies to promote transparency.
  • The publisher should support investigations into suspected research and publication misconduct and take necessary corrective actions.

Handling Misconduct

  • Any misconduct allegations, including plagiarism, falsification, or duplicate publication, will be thoroughly investigated.
  • The journal reserves the right to retract or correct published articles if ethical violations are confirmed.
  • Authors, reviewers, and editors must cooperate fully in investigations related to ethical concerns.
